Client: Texas Department of Transportation (ultimate client), CH2M Hill (prime consultant)
Role: Deputy Project Manager
While at Steer Davies Gleave, I played a key role in the preliminary ridership and revenue forecasting portion of the Tier 1 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) study of proposed high-speed rail service on the Oklahoma City-South Texas corridor. I was responsible for using the FRA’s CONNECT tool (developed in part by me and others at SDG) to perform preliminary screening analysis, and for performing as-needed analysis requested by the client.
Preliminary forecasts were made for a number of alignment and technology alternatives, including a possible extension to Monterrey, Mexico—which required custom modifications to the FRA CONNECT tool.
