Client: Federal Railroad Administration (ultimate client), Parsons Brinckerhoff (prime consultant)
Role: Project Manager
While at Steer Davies Gleave, I played a key role on a team led by Parsons Brinckerhoff that performed a National and Regional Rail Planning Study for the Federal Railroad Administration. The project was intended to help shape impact national policy involving High-Speed and Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) services.
SDG’s work focused on issues related to national-level HSIPR project benefit-cost analysis, ridership & revenue forecasting and rail project evaluation as well as a multi-state (California, Nevada, Arizona) rail study. As part of the forecasting portion, I led the development of the ridership component of CONNECT—a national-level sketch planning HSIPR demand forecasting tool, which can be used to generate preliminary estimates of ridership and revenues on user-defined rail networks.
